Blue1 People’s Association ry. (B1PA)

B1PA has changed its name and rules. B1PA was earlier pilot’s trade union (Blue1 Pilot´s Association).During spring 2022 there was a plan to establish old Blue1 colleagues union to keep contact with former colleagues.Discusiions were continued during fall 2022.
At that time idea popped up that old pilot’s association could continue with new name and new rules.
Now B1PA is intended for all old colleagues. Old abreviation B1PA wanted to be kept and that is why new name became Blue1 People´s Association ry.

You can get membership if you have been working earlier for Oy Air Botnia Ab, Blue1 Oy or CityJet Oy. Membership can be applied also by those who have been working in close cooperation with companies mentioned above. Support membership can be granted for all legal persons, associations, clubs and companies who want to support B1PA.

B1PA’s plan is to keep in touch with its members and arrange at least one gettogether for its members per year. B1PA also tries to inform its members for all interesting aviation related happenings.

B1PA has also webpages for its’ members. By paying membership fee you can get access to B1PA Forum which is members only. On the forum you can share your memories with your old colleagues and share photos and stories.

HISTORY

Blue1 Pilots’ Association (B1PA), earlier name Air Botnian Lentäjäyhdistys (ABLY) was established on spring 1994 for pilots association. Name was changed to Blue1 Pilots’ Association when company was changing its name to Blue1 in the new year of 2004.
Members wanted to keep the name even though company was sold to Irish Cityjet 2015.
Members were all professional pilots. During good old days 150 in total.

CityJet is Irish airline, who was having base in Helsinki also (CityJet Oy).
Due to Corona virus and its effect was airline industry, Cityjet Oy was filed bankrypcy 22.4.2020.
Association anyway continued wishing brighter future.
After long discussions and to avoid closing union, it was decided to change union to represent all former employees instead of pilots in january 2023.
